Changes!

You might not see it, but I have spent 1000 SEK (135USD or 110 euro) on my hair today! I know it is a lot of money, at least for me to spend on something superficial like my hair. However, I was excused (by myself) since I have been cutting my own hair for at least a year, and felt that this amount was ok to spend on the hair if calculated over an entire year. So. You know, if you want something, you (or I can help you to) find a reason to go through with it, i.e. something to smother one's bad conscience with.

For that amount I still had to provide the hair; but I got about 20 light and 20 redbrown-ish highlights, a wonderful magnificent hair wash and scalp massage, hair cut, and straighening of my crazy curls. I wish I could afford always having my hair washed at the hair dresser, it is just such a wonderful thing! Having someone else splash hot water on your head, and massage it.

But I guess money can be better spent. And if you have some coins laying around at home, come see me downtown Lund collecting money for 'Save the Children'. I have really found a nice thing to do now, whenever I want to, however much I want. And it is so rewarding, standing in the city, smiling at people, getting lots of smiles back, meeting selfless people, all for a greater purpose.

Today a man selling 'Aluma', a swedish support organization for homeless people, came up to me. He smiled, donated 50 öre (around 10 US cents, or 5 eurocents), and said "a gift from a poor man to a poor child". My heart melted.

You look GREAT (you always did anyway). Gee, $135 would have gotten you Seasons 2-5 of 24 with enough left over for popcorn!

Have a great weekend...

Thanks Arlen, your compliment is very kind. The comment about 24 is more annoying, since I know you are right, and that 24 would probably entertain me longer. But it cannot all be about 24, sometimes you must stay in what some refer to as 'real life'.

(24 has been put on my Xmas wish-list, of course)
