Aron the cat.
I had a visitor yesterday. Aron the cat. And he brought my sister. Aron was very skeptical towards the Cute Cat-smell in my apartment (there was no cute cat, he's with my parents over Easter). Aron went round smelling everything intensly, rolling and scratching his paws on everything, to get his smell to dominate. He did his very loud "I have balls, and I am not afraid to be affected by them"-scream. It is not that loud actually, but it is still annoying. When he still hadn't stopped at 2 am. And I went out to pet him (I had closed the bedroom door to try to get some sleep), I smelled a very familiar stench of un-emasculated cat pee. I found the source, his own transport bag. I put the bag in the bath tub, and went back to the bed trying to sleep some more. But I couldn't. I gave up. Me and Joding decided to substitute our planned "morning walk" with a late night bike ride to my sister's place, and return the loud and smelly Aron.
When we came back, the place still reaked, and we opened windows to air out the pee-fumes. In the morning it still wasn't gone, and finally I found the second stench-source, a pee puddle next to my sofa and on the carpet. I wanted to substitute my peeing difficult Cute Cat over Easter, so I wanted to borrow cute, cuddly little Aron. But instead I got an even more annoying, stench-peeing cat. I will appreciate my Cute Cat more from now on. He might pee sometimes, but it's not all that smelly. Hopefully he'll stop it altogether soon.
The plan to make Cute Cat stop peeing now, is a plan with sub-plans. First of all, we'll move to a larger apartment on june 1st. Then we'll have one room just for the bed, which will be off limits to Cute Cat at all times. As I see it, this should make it impossible for him to pee in the bed. I do realise that he might find an alternate location for his urine releases. And if that happens, I will take him to the vet and try this hormone shot he can get. Like a chemical castration (on top of his physical castration), which will reduce the testosterone levels even further, and hopefully render a non-territorial cute Cute Cat. At least for a few months, which is the timeframe for the shot effect. Then he either has to stop volountarily, or we'll have to keep going to the vet, getting expensive shots. It's totally up to him.
I wonder how Cute Cat will react upon returning to his home on monday evening, finding that everything smells of Aron the cat, not like himself. Will he pee rivers to cover the Aron-smell? Let's hope not.

Aron is at home now. Playing fetch with a plastic mouse, or well it used to be a normal toy mouse but he killed it. Now he came and sat down beside me on the sofa. I think he is happy to be at home. I'm still considering having him fixed, make him stop squeaking. No peeing outside of the box at home....yet.
Det var väl det som Viggen kände på sig att där var främmande herrar hemma hos honom. Jag är säker på att det var därför han kissade på Th´s kontors stol i morse, den lille grisen. Nöf Nöf!
